History:
Alex Dearborn started Dearborn Automobile Co in Marblehead,
Massachusetts in 1973. At first it was a 300SL only restoration
shop, but it soon grew to include all fifties-era Mercedes-Benz
cars. He later added a sales department.
By 1978 the company had outgrown the Marblehead shop, so Alex moved it
to larger quarters in Topsfield, MA. He sold the restoration business
that year to his chief mechanic, Paul Russell.
From 1995 through 2000, Alex served as sales manager for Sports Leicht
Restorations, (now in Pinehurst NC) with whom the company still
maintains a working relationship.
